A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on the computer hard drive of the Client. Once the Client agrees, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets the Client know when the Client visits a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to the Client. The web application can tailor its operations to the needs of the, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about the preferences of the Client.
